Hooray for four legged friends! With 12 acres of meadows and mown paths this really is dog friendly glamping and there’s even a dog friendly beach nearby at Dollar Cove, Gunwalloe. (A grey pebble beach next door to Church Cove, opposite the ice cream hut and toilets and closest to the National Trust carpark.)
We welcome all well behaved dogs and even provide a trug and dog towel in case you need to clean up after muddy walks. We walk our own dog around the meadows too so keep a look-out for Maui the welsh terrier!
The wood stoves are the heart of our glamping tents here in Cornwall, there’s no better place to be, warm and toasty after a good bit of outdoors in the Cornish meadows or a dose of vitamin sea at the nearby beach. Pop a pasty in the oven, put the kettle on and listen to the crackling of the logs. So it’s time to sweep the chimney, re-spray the woodstove and while we are at it a new coat of stormy grey paint in our converted shipping container. Getting things ready for you lovely lot and the new glamping season.
Time to start mowing the paths in the meadows and stacking the log store here at Barefoot Glamping HQ. The sun is shining, the yellow gorse is in bloom on the coast paths and we are looking forward to wearing our favourite T-shirts again. All our Organic Tees and Totes are made sustainably, powered by renewable energy, and made to be remade. There’s no waste, and the cycle is renewable. With zero plastic packaging. Love this photo shared by our glampers staying last week in Woody the safari tent. It captures the essence of summer nights under canvas, lights out, head torches on and a big comfy bed big enough to share. Reading books instead of watching TV or playing computer games after a day spent running off steam in the 12 acre meadows, it’s the perfect recipe for a good nights sleep before waking up refreshed and all set for another day of outdoor adventures.
Stargazing is a simple way to bring science alive for kids and share with them the beauty of the natural world. Taking the time to look up in wonder at the canopy of space is a powerful experience and our glamping meadows here on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall with very little light pollution are the perfect stargazing heaven. No equipment required, just relax on the decking with a mug of hot chocolate or a glass of red and lose yourself in the Milky Way overhead. This amazing photo was taken from the decking of Woody one night last week.
We just had to share this story and drawing from Benji who stayed with his lovely family in Woody the safari tent last week here at Barefoot Glamping Cornwall on the Lizard Peninsula just down the road from Poldhu Cove Beach. Riding bikes, flying kites, playing in the woods, hide & seek in the long grass, followed by a bbq supper and toasting marshmallows round the fire pit while watching the sunset in the meadow, wow he knows how to make the most of the day!
Enjoying the simple pleasures of being outside with plenty of green space to run wild in equals happy kids, happy dogs, happy families and happy holidays, not to mention how happy it makes us feel too here at Barefoot HQ. With the summer holidays almost upon us we hope that all of our glampers have as much fun as Benji.

Last week our glamping guests staying in Rusty the tin tent, surrounded by nature in the Cornish wildflower meadow, were enjoying all the pleasures of a luxury camping low-tech holiday when they spotted a fox cub tip-toeing past the tent through the long grass! Come on all you nature watchers, grab your camera, pack your essentials and have yourselves a nature lovers holiday here at Barefoot Glamping on the Lizard Peninsula.
