The heart of our shipping container (and safari tents)

The wood stoves are the heart of our glamping tents here in Cornwall, there’s no better place to be, warm and toasty after a good bit of outdoors in the Cornish meadows or a dose of vitamin sea at the nearby beach. Pop a pasty in the oven, put the kettle on and listen to the crackling of the logs. So it’s time to sweep the chimney, re-spray the woodstove and while we are at it a new coat of stormy grey paint in our converted shipping container. Getting things ready for you lovely lot and the new glamping season.

BEDTIME STORIES

Love this photo shared by our glampers staying last week in Woody the safari tent. It captures the essence of summer nights under canvas, lights out, head torches on and a big comfy bed big enough to share. Reading books instead of watching TV or playing computer games after a day spent running off steam in the 12 acre meadows, it’s the perfect recipe for a good nights sleep before waking up refreshed and all set for another day of outdoor adventures.

A SKY FULL OF STARS

the Milky Way as seen from woody the safari tent Cornwall

Stargazing is a simple way to bring science alive for kids and share with them the beauty of the natural world. Taking the time to look up in wonder at the canopy of space is a powerful experience and our glamping meadows here on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall with very little light pollution are the perfect stargazing heaven. No equipment required, just relax on the decking with a mug of hot chocolate or a glass of red and lose yourself in the Milky Way overhead. This amazing photo was taken from the decking of Woody one night last week.

WINTER GLAMPING IN RUSTY THE TIN TENT

Just had to share this lovely review, winter glamping may not appeal to everyone but for those who want to get away from the crowds and enjoy the simple things…

“Jon and Sally were so friendly and welcoming and got us checked in very quickly. They really have thought of everything to make any stay special including a cute little honesty shop on site. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary in Rusty and didn’t think for one minute that we would be so comfortable and cosy glamping in November. Once the log fire was roaring away we quickly forgot just how crisp it was outside. It was lovely to escape the trappings of technology and enjoy walking around the meadows, drinking hot chocolate on the veranda and gazing at the millions of stars in the night sky. All the little finishing touches that are provided from the tea lights and fluffy towels to the trug and biscuits just for the dog made our stay less like camping and more like a rustic home from home. Rusty is in a beautiful setting with meadows and a little wood to walk around. We saw some gorgeous sunrises and sunsets from the glamping site. Poldhu cove is a short drive away for a dog friendly beach with an amazing cafe. Great cliff path walk into Mullion with stunning scenery. We will definitely book again, worth every penny.”

WINTER GLAMPING

Rusty the Tint Tent is the perfect winter glamping getaway
Cosy up by the wood burning stove, perfect for cooking up a feast, warming mulled wine and making hot chocolate. Wintery dog walks along the beach and the coast paths, candlelit evenings and clear starry nights.  Thick duvets, luxurious linen bedding, plenty of throws and blankets and your own hot shower room big enough for two. Winter glamping, a getaway like no other.
