THE BAREFOOT GLAMPING STORY
We relocated from London to Cornwall 18 years ago to raise our children in a cleaner, fresher, more outdoor and spacious environment. Running our small design business and renting out the 12 acres of meadows to daffodil farmers and grazing, that is until 8 years ago. When to celebrate a milestone birthday we pitched a marquee, hired a band, built a fire pit and invited all our friends from near and far to come join us, pitch up tents or bring camper vans in the meadow with sea views. It was a magical moment, everyone just loved being here. We realised then that we had this wonderful location, it blew us away how lovely it was, it was time to start enjoying the land, so we stopped renting it out, reclaimed it as our amazing space and set up Barefoot Glamping.
Barefoot Glamping is all about outdoor living, embracing the best of camping without roughing it. Our tents are furnished with a mix of basic and luxury materials, apple crates, pallets and upcycled wood, juxtaposed with quality sprung mattresses, thick duvets, luxury washed linen bedding, fur throws, cowskin rugs and comfy armchairs. The wood burning stoves are generous and give out lots of heat as well as doubling up as a cooking range. We built en-suite shower shacks out of wood, corregated metal and added electric showers. The decision to only build three tents has also added a very special and hard to find luxury of space, 12 acres of AONB, no cars, just nature, just you. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
